Colossal stone towers, known as “Seven Sisters” or “Wedding Cake” buildings were built in Stalin’s time and now – despite their debatable architectural value – they are a permanent part of the city skyline and certainly characterize it. Two of these buildings are the Leningradskaya and the Ukraina Hotels, two are the ministries, the other two were transformed into prestigious residential buildings and the last one is the main building of the Moscow State University on Sparrow Hills.
