EXPLORE MOSCOW → GORKY PARK
The official name of this park was made famous by Michael Apted’s movie. With its widespread grounds along the banks of the Moskva River, it is a wonderful place to refresh the body and spirit: both Muscovites and tourists alike choose it to escape for a few hours from the bustle city traffic. The park abounds in fairground areas, lakes for pedal-boating and canoeing, plenty of bars and restaurants (open-air and indoors), go-kart track, roller-coasters etc. In winter, the whole park with its paths, lakes and squares is turned into a gigantic ice-skating rink with skates rental, non-stop music, tea with kalachi (Russian style bagels) and lots of fun.
Open: daily 10am – 10pm in summer, 10am – 9pm in winter
Tickets: admission fee charged at the entrance
